You were always there, always aware
Of my heart’s deepest yearning
The way my thoughts were churning

You were there, always caring
When I felt lost and alone
As if my hope was gone

You were always there, paying attention
When my life was filled with discord
And the confusing circumstances
Had left me feeling overwhelmed
As if I couldn’t possibly accept
The changes that were coming round’

You were there, always understanding
And accepting me in spite of those things
That caused me to feel like I would never be
Worthwhile, the way I had once been

You were always there, through the struggles
Amid the worries and stressful moments
Reassuring me with your presence
Fulfilling my heart’s quest for
